The Music and the Ministry

​​Richard’s acoustic folk-blues-gospel music style is unique - yet people of all ages and musical tastes enjoy it. His breezy, contagious sense of humor puts people at ease and prepares them to receive good things from God.
The gospel is clearly presented whenever and wherever he ministers, whether in churches, prisons, jails, juvenile detention centers, residential re-entry programs, concerts, coffeehouses, or other venues.
He is a worshipper, but not a “worship leader.” People sometimes assume all Christians who play an instrument must be worship leaders.
Not so - Richard’s music is compelling, evangelistic, prophetic, scripturally sound, and sometimes challenging. He is a psalmist and a troubadour - a teller of stories.
Since he started in ministry back in the 1980s, Richard has encouraged people to enjoy rest and freedom in Christ - to repent of their sin, accept Jesus’ offer of forgiveness and friendship, and become emotionally-whole, spiritually-mature followers of Christ, led by the Holy Spirit and producing good and lasting fruit.
Over the decades, “Stonefingers” has ministered in thirty-eight states and four Canadian provinces (so far). Thousands of people have come to know the Lord Jesus Christ through his ministry.
